The tale of how Symmetry Dental Direct came to be begins with the Wegman family. Ted Wegman was born into a family with a 40 year tradition of manufacturing commercial cabinetry. Despite the family tradition, Ted began his career in the late '90s selling dental technologies for a major national dental supplier. His time in the dental business opened his eyes to the unique market of dental cabinetry and the few companies that offered cabinet solutions for dentists. And an idea was born...
In 2006, Ted returned to his heritage of cabinet building and launched a new company designed to be a more nimble, high quality dental cabinetry company that could offer the advantages of direct from the manufacturer value. He called it Symmetry Dental Direct.
Having designed Symmetry's Dental Cabinet Suite, Ted needed someone with the expertise for the construction side of the business to lead the quality, manufacturing and construction/installation side of Symmetry....which is when Andy Goldkamp stepped in. An engineer and logistical whiz that had spent the past 20 years working in commercial construction, Goldkamp brought his meticulous attention to detail and knowledge of contractors, architects and installations to the Symmetry vision.
Balancing their skills - Ted's vision and knowledge of the dental and cabinetry businesses with Andy's engineering and construction expertise - the leadership team found its own symmetry and the company began to take off.
In 2010, Symmetry recruited two veteran salesmen from the dental industry, Kevin Orthman and Brett Wandfluh, to become Regional Vice Presidents of Sales and expand the company's reach.
In 2013, Symmetry introduced the new Symmetry ID system - a fully integrated design system for dentists that can be completed in one meeting.
Building off years of research with doctor's use of clinical cabinetry in a practice, in 2014 Symmetry created the next evolution in dental furniture - the smart, beautiful Francis Park Collection.
The Symmetry product lines now encompass the design process from floor plans, to paint colors, to the Symmetry Dental Cabinet Suite and Ted's Symmetry vision remains to the same... to offer the perfect balance of high quality, dental designs and factory direct value in everything they do.
